While retaining the main structure, modern architectural design methods are used to meet the needs of new functional uses. The facade uses red brick material to hint at the historical era of the building, and large areas of glass are used to bring natural light into the interior, creating a human interface with transparent sightlines between indoors and outdoors. Inside the building, the public space enclosed by semi-transparent glass interfaces solves the issue of natural lighting in the atrium without compromising the privacy of the usable spaces.
