The train station located on both banks of the Rhine River in Cologne is undergoing a promising intermodal transformation that will greatly promote the development of the eastern part of the city and the revival of abandoned industrial areas. To tackle the aforementioned challenges, the Urban Affairs Office has proposed a fundamental solution: to build a light and swift circular monorail using the innovative concept of a "soft mobility and pedestrian" landscape bridge that spans the Rhine River, while also doubling the capacity of the historic Hohenzollern Bridge (Pont Hohenzollern).
