The Changping base is located at the intersection of Innovation Road and Zhitong Road in Changping New Town, Beijing, approximately 35 kilometers in a straight line from the city center. Several large buildings have already been constructed on the base, surrounding a large lawn in the center. To the south is the gatehouse and the office complex, to the east is the auxiliary production building, which serves as the power station for the factory area, and to the north is a logistics gatehouse that controls the logistics in and out of the entire factory area, as well as the main production building, which also serves as a warehouse. Our design concept stems from the desire to harmonize the characteristics of two different scales, namely the flexibility of the production experimental space and the necessity of natural lighting, with the coordinated combination of different buildings at the urban scale. Instead of building an aerial corridor between the new quality center and the existing main production building, we designed a connection that links one wing of the new quality center to the main production building. Through this new connection, an "arm" extends from the northeast corner to the southwest corner, creating a new layout for the factory area, giving us the opportunity to redefine the main entrance and the logistics entrance of the factory area.
